Stephanie's family
(and some friends too)
I have two brothers (both younger than me but hopefully you can't tell!):

John (who has helped me put together these pages) is seen  here with me and his wife Lindsey back in November 1997.

John and Lindsey  have their own home page.  They have lovely photos taken on their exciting holidays.  1999's holiday was in South Africa.  They are particularly interested in the wildlife to be seen.  Do take a look.

George, my youngest brother, is seen here with his two daughters, Phoebe (a rabbit) and Thea (a princess) and me again.  This time on 20th June 1998.
(28/4/00  George has just set up a home page too. George's home page   Included on the page is a picture of my family taken back in the 50's when we were all very young.  Its not often that my mother was caught on camera.  Maybe I should put that picture on here too!)

Here are my adorable nieces without the face paint! Thea is 4 years old and Phoebe is 6 years old.

Phoebe has enjoyed her first year at school and this is her first school photograph.

I took this photo in May 1999 when Thea had turned 5 and Phoebe was almost 7. The girl on the right is their friend Lauren.  Please note the beanie babies in their hands which were birthday presents!!  We were all on a nice walk through a bluebell wood!

These are just a few more of the photos I took in that bluebell wood.  The smell from the flowers was wonderful.  I had a lovely weekend staying in George's new house and spending time with him and the girls.

I took the following photos at Beacon Fell which is about half an hour's drive from where I live.  It is a lovely area for walking with lots of wooded areas, various trails (they are trying to encourage schools to visit so they have included maths and science trails) a visitors centre with cafe and some beautiful carvings.  I don't know if we have found everything yet. I haven't included the bat as my pictures were too dark.  The snake was really long and it was Phoebe who was clever enough to find it.  I think it was meant to be a rattle snake.  The girls enjoyed walking along it.  I really need to go again when I can really walk a little further as the children never want to walk very far!
The face was fun as you can look through one of the eyes, unfortunately it was too misty for us to see very far.  The head at the end is a heron. It has two tree trunks for its legs and is very tall.  Thea was especially fascinated by it and went on to draw lots of pictures of it

I live in the North West of England just 15 minutes drive from John and Lindsey.  Unfortunately for me George and the girls live in the South of England so I only manage to see them a few times a year.  As I am sure you can tell I love having them to stay.  Both girls are learning to swim and being keen are progressing very quickly.  I shall have to watch out or they will be competing with me soon! (My record so far is 50 lengths in an hour, the pool is 80 ft long.)

...and of course my family is not complete without my two lovely cats:

Flossie,  who demands lots of attention, likes to join me at the computer. She is a lazy indoor cat but if the weather is very nice she can be seen outside sunning herself! She sadly had to be put to sleep on 13th June 1999.

Max, the youngest, likes cuddles but only on his terms!! He is an explorer,  hunter and very definitely an outdoor cat..  Fortunately he seems to have learnt now not to bring any dead or living creatures into the house!!  He often has sores from where he has been attacked by other cats so we have frequent visits to the vet!.

On Wednesday 16th June 1999 I got two new cats.  They are sisters.  They are about two years old and have both recently had kittens and been spayed.  They are what the vet calls 'naughty torties'!!  They certainly don't like going to the vet and injections are even worse!!  They leap in the air before the vet has finished pressing the syringe!  But despite all the trouble they have caused me, see cats page, they are adorable!
Amber is the cat on the left and Candy the one on the right!  Candy died before Christmas 2003 which was a great shock.  The vet didn't know what had caused her death.  Amber is now on her own apart from a visiting cat called Fred.  None of the neighbourhood cats like Fred, including Amber.

FRIENDS

Some of you have heard me talk of my very special friend Rachel.  She is a speech and language therapist who worked alongside me before moving to Germany for three years. I was lucky enough to spend a week with her in 1997.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Germany and was extremely well looked after.  Well Rachel has had an eventful few years including being treated for breast cancer.  She had just got her goal weight using the At Home programme as she couldn't understand enough German to cope with a German class.  The doctors said that her weight loss had helped her discover her lump early and she then received Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy.  Now Rachel is doing well and I am delighted that she has been back living in the UK since August 1999.  I really missed her friendship whilst she was away and unfortunately she wasn't linked to the Internet, she hopes to be soon though.  I took this photo by Fairhaven Lake, photos of the area can be found on my exercise page.  Unfortunately Ellie, nearly 5 years, was in a silly mood and so pulled faces in each picture!  Please note she is wearing her pink Barbie wellingtons despite a lovely sunny day as she only got them that morning!!

GODCHILDREN

I have four Godchildren.  Three girls and one boy.  The following is a picture of Richard and his family.  I join them every Boxing Day which has become a lovely tradition for me and another friend.  Richard's father, Rodney, was originally my curate when I lived in Blackpool and his mother, Kathleen, was at school with me.  I then went on to do a number of church youth camps with Rodney and have lots of happy and amusing memories from them!  Richard is very special as he is not only my only Godson but he was born on the same day as my mother.  Richard has my love of computers and he sent me this photo by email.  Rachel has her birthday on Valentine's Day.
