Welcome to my home page. The above picture is of me and my
best friend's two children, 2004. We were enjoying a walk, I was bird
watching, when we decided to have a short rest.
I am a primary school teacher, teaching children aged 4-7 years with severe speech and language difficulties. I live in the North West of England in a town which gives me easy access to many beautiful areas in the north.
Previously my home page has been closely linked to my weight.
I am great believer in Weight Watchers for a good programme and support
for weight loss. Unfortunately for various reasons I did not keep my
weight off and am currently having spells of months of losing weight
and months of gaining. It is so very easy to allow weight issues
to take over your life that I have decided to remove all my diary type
pages and just leave the original story of how I lost 11½
stone. I reached my goal of 9 stone
13 lbs (i.e. 139 lbs) on 26th October 1998.
I belong to Virgin Active where I have made some good friends who
help keep exercise a fun activity. I get lots of pleasure
watching birds in the garden as well as further afield. I have
moods when I enjoy gardening but I love talking about gardens. I
am a cat lover and can't imagine a home without cats. Generally I
am
very lazy and quite happy curled up in an armchair reading books.
I am very proud of my youngest brother, George, who has run a few
marathons. My other brother, John, and his wife, Lindsey, are
keen photographers as well as bird watching. They are much
quicker spotting birds and identifying them than I am! My family
are very special!
Many of my pages contain pictures which are small but they enlarge when you click on them.
I have gradually been adding more pages since my brother, John,
helped
me start this in May 1998. John used to scan pictures for me but
now I have a digital camera I can do everything myself. My latest
pages are about special holidays I have.
So please go to my contents
page to see what is new.
